liberal nanny state

liberals love a nanny state, where the government protects you from yourself. where you cannot do anything that might remotely endanger yourself.
the open carry folks have not had any accidents or shootings or anything that all go bad other than making some people who are not familiar with guns uncomfortable.

the state Assembly approved a bill 45-25 that would forbid anyone from openly carrying an unloaded handgun. It now moves to the Senate.

the only rational for this law i can think of is that guns make certain people uncomfortable. so should we ban anything that makes people uncomfortable?
obviously someone who is planning on shooting someone else isnt going to be walking around displaying their gun, making sure plenty of witnesses see it..
