676-1111

at the moan, the time will be.......

i wonder if kids these days have cool things like this, or if they just spend all their time on myspace.

update: once upon a time, before the ineternetz, we had telephones. well, there was a number one could call and the telephone would then tell you the time. it was called popcorn. ask your grandparents about it.
but here in the wonderful land of concord we had mona. you would call mona up, and she would tell you what time it was. only she did it with an orgasmic moan. it was rather amazing. the kind of thing middle school boys in other parts of the world only dreamt of.

At the moan the time will be _:__ oaohhhhhhh! Hey baby, you wanna go for seconds? At the moan the time will be _:__ oaohhhhhhhh!...Ahhhh now I need a cigarette". lol. 12. My brother originated "Moana" and my sister was the voice, at one point he had a phone number 676-1111 and received many hang up calls on his answering machine. One time he asked a caller not to hang up and asked the person who they were calling, the person said "time". Back in the day the # for time was 767 and any 4 numbers (we called it POPCORN), since most of us had "rotary dial" phones we would dial 767-1111. Obviously people were dialing the # wrong and calling 676-1111, so my brother decided to give those people "time". It was quite an ordeal since he needed to get the phone # in different area codes. I remember the day he hit the 1 millionth call, we were all amazed. Even Herb Caen in San Francisco wrote about Moana in one of his articles. My brother never made a dime off any of it, he just did it for fun.

    2. The Fresno County Moana number was not 676-1111. It was 559-333-4444. So I don't think I believe this anonymous person about their siblings creating it.

    3. Nor do I believe them either. Why? Because I specifically remember that if you stuck around to the end mona would start trying to entice you to call her 900 number and chat with her live for like $4.99 a minute. Somebody was making money.
